Contanda Terminals is a premier global provider of bulk liquid storage and related services. We concentrate on the chemical and commodity markets, providing industry-leading customer service. From creating convenient locations to custom building facilities to unique storage and blending services, we do whatever it takes to help our customers succeed.
Our Grays Harbor Terminal is located in the Port of Grays Harbor, Washington. The Port is the only Pacific Coast deep water port north of San Francisco and is closer to the Pacific Rim than any other West Coast Port. This proximity is a competitive advantage for companies engaged in international and domestic trade.
Contanda, formerly Westway Terminals, has been a part of Grays Harbor County since 2009, operating a liquid bulk storage and transport facility. Our proposed project is an expansion of this current facility.
We are deeply committed to compliance in the areas of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ). This commitment is demonstrated by our zero tolerance for incidents. Contanda is a partner in the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care Program in the United States. With many longstanding customers using our facilities in multiple locations, our reputation for HSEQ compliance is exceptional.
About the Proposal
Contanda Grays Harbor is seeking to expand our current facility to include an area to receive, store and ship crude oil. This will enable our facility to receive up to 17.8 million barrels of oil per year and add 1,000,000 barrels of storage capacity for crude oil.
We are currently securing the required permits from the City of Hoquiam and the state of Washington for the proposed expansion. The final permits are expected to be issued by the end of 2016, with construction to begin once the permit is finalized. Construction will take approximately 12 months from the date of initial ground breaking.
