Safety is a top priority for Contanda. Our superior safety record and stringent standards reflect this unwavering commitment by Senior Management and employees. The safety and security of our employees and communities, as well as the protection of the environment in which we live and work are at the heart of every decision we make.
Our proposed facility reflects this essential commitment. The facility will adhere to the strictest safety and environmental protocols of local, state and federal government. We follow engineering best practices in building design and safe construction. Contanda builds, maintains and operates in compliance with the highest global industry safety standards.
After the completion of the existing terminal in 2009, Contanda supplied the City of Hoquiam Fire Department with a new foam fire truck and invested in comprehensive training for flammable liquid fires. Contanda also invested in hands-on training for members of the Hoquiam and Aberdeen fire departments.
As a partner in the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care program, Contanda headquarters and terminal sites are independently audited for environmental, health, safety, security compliance and conformance with internal management systems. We’re proud to be a part of this voluntary certification program. We also have well-developed internal auditing procedures that require rigorous annual inspections for each terminal.
